Plot
Based on the novel by Paul Morand. The movie tells the story of Gardefort, rider of the Cadre Noir of Saumur, and their newly purchased mare, Milady. During two years Gardefort will train the mare until they reach the highest level of haute école. However, economic problems forced him to sell all he has, including his mare that is purchased by a Belgian banker, who transforms the mare in a circus horse. When Gardefort sees that, he will do the only thing that he considers valid and correct.
